PAPITO Bookshelf

Books for every stage of childhood

From newborn to young adult. A short shelf for new and expecting parents, then board books and bedtime stories for the early years, then books to read side by side and talk about as kids grow. Most have won major awards or are widely loved by parents, teachers and librarians.

Award details are listed as we understand them; your librarian can confirm. Books for older kids carry a heads-up when they include mature themes, so you can read alongside them and talk.

Want to know what your kids are reading at school?

For parents who want to know what’s assigned or available at school, here’s where that information is usually published.

  • Florida public elementary schools are required by state law to post a searchable list of library materials and any school or grade-level reading lists on the school’s website, often under the media center or library page.
  • School districts commonly post their adopted instructional materials, and many post summer reading lists by grade.
  • Middle and high school reading is often chosen by individual teachers and listed in the course syllabus.
  • Outside Florida, what’s published varies by state and district.

These lists are general and may not match your child’s class. Your child’s teacher or school is the best source for what they’re actually reading. PAPITO’s book list is separate and isn’t tied to any school curriculum.
